Fall Cleaning Checklist to Make Cleaning a Breeze
As Fall is almost upon us and we are having a rainy week here on Long Beach Island it might be time to get a jumpstart on your Fall cleaning! Below we have put together a cleaning checklist, room by room to try and make things a little easier!
KITCHEN
- Clean on top of the refrigerator and cabinets
- Organize your pantry and throw away any old food
- Clean out your refrigerator and throw away any old food
- Vacuum under fridge and any other movable appliances or shelves
- Clean the food trap in your dishwasher
- Vacuum and mop floors
- Wipe down all cabinets and baseboards
BEDROOMS
- Go through your closet(s) and donate anything you haven’t worn or plan to
- Swap out warm weather clothing for colder weather clothing (keep a few summer pieces, it’s not winter yet!)
- Wash blinds and curtains
- Vacuum everywhere, including under your bed, dressers and closets
- Flip or rotate your mattress
- Wash all bed linens including the bed skirts, covers, pads and sheets
- Replace bedding with warmer blankets
- Dust and polish all furniture
BATHROOMS
- Deep clean the shower, toilet and sink with bleach
- Wash shower curtains and liners
- Check all grout and make repairs where necessary
- Throw away all outdated medications
- Check all fixtures for leaks and clogs
- Vacuum and mop floors
LIVING AREAS
- Wash all curtains and blinds
- Dust and polish furniture
- Vacuum all upholstery
- Vacuum all floors and under furniture
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets
- Clean out the fireplace
- Have your chimney and flues inspected and cleaned
THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOME
- Dust and wash all light fixtures
- Dust and clean all baseboards and door frames
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets
- Wash your walls and touch up with paint where needed
- Check all light bulbs and replace where needed
- Check batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Check your fire extinguishers
- Clean out your dryer vent
- Dust and wash all air vents
- Mop all floors
- Change your air filters
