Everything You Need to Know About Going to the Beach in Beach Haven, New Jersey

Beach Haven is located on the South end of Long Beach Island and a popular destination for many. Due to the multiple shops, restaurants and activities for young children, families have been gathering here for years. If you are headed to Beach Haven, whether it be for the day or summer vacation we have you covered with any and all beach information you need to know.

Where are the Lifeguards Located?

Lifeguards are on duty from 10am-5pm every day and are located on the following streets:

  • 12th Street
  • Taylor Ave
  • 5th Street
  • 2nd Street
  • Centre Street
  • Engleside Ave
  • Pearl Street
  • Belvoir Ave
  • Essex Ave
  • Between Liberty & Pelham Ave
  • Between Kentford & Leeward Ave

Handicap Access

  • 5th Street Pavilion
  • Pearl Street Pavilion
  • Centre Street

Beach Wheels

Beach wheels will take you to and from the beach and are available by contacting the Beach Patrol office at 609-492-9193 from June 28th through Labor Day.

Swimming on the Beach

Swimming is permitted between the flags, near the lifeguards. If you swim while the lifeguards are off duty, you are doing so at your own risk.

Beach Badges

Beach badges are required on all beaches. The prices are as follows. Seniors and kinds under 12 are free. (BONUS: ALL BEACH HAVEN BEACHES ARE FREE ON WEDNESDAYS)

$40- Seasonal beginning June 16th
$20- Weekly
$5- Daily
Free (Must Register)- Seniors 65+

Public Restrooms

  • Taylor Avenue bay Playground
  • Second Street by the bay
  • Centre Street by the ocean
  • Pearl Street at the tennis court
  • Borough Hall
  • Nelson Avenue Playground

The Dunes

Any and all activity on the dunes is not permitted. Please be kind and stay off of the dunes.

Food & Drink

Food and drink are allowed on all beaches but please be respectful and clean up your trash. Alcoholic beverages of any kind are not permitted on any beach.

Fishing

Fishing is allowed outside of the designated swimming areas near the lifeguards.

Surfing

Surfing is allowed between the following streets:

  • 11th to 9th street
  • 7th to 6th street
  • Ocean to Marine
  • Glendola to Liberty
  • Leeward south.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed on any beach between May 15-September 15.
